Cal State Los Angeles: Attends Cal State Los Angeles, but only competed in track and field… Finished third in the CCAA Championships in the steeplechase (9:27) and was an all-conference selection… Also competed in the 1500 meters (4:00) and 5000 meters (15:10)…..

East Los Angeles College Cross Country (2012): Helped the team finished 17th at the State Championships with his 48th place finish in a time of 21:21.79… Posted a 19th place time at  the Southern California Championships with a time of 20:42.77 and came in fifth place at the South Coast Conference Championships (20:08)…..

Norwalk HS: Voted his team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior and posted a personal best time of 15:21 over a three-mile course… While on the track and field team, he won the Suburban League championship in the 3200 meters (9:50) as a senior and junior, while he was the league champion in the 1600 meters (4:35) as a junior…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was his performance at the state championships last year with East Los Angeles College… Aspires to be a chiropractor… Hobbies include biking… Has four siblings – Regina (29), Desiree (25), Bernardo (23) and Victor (19)… Is the son of Bernardo De La Cruz and Josephine Betancourt… Born in Whittier, CA on April 20, 1991…..
